Training will take place April 15 to 19, 2019 in Riga.

Digital technology and platforms – specifically mobile and social – have revolutionized journalism. This 5-day workshop will give you the knowledge and skills you need to navigate this world with success and impact. Combining both strategic big-picture lessons with an array of hands-on assignments, your trainers David Ho (The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press) and Melanie Coffee (The Associated Press, The Oslo Desk) will share the latest industry best practices and teach you about mobile and social news.

The mobile topics include: shooting and editing smartphone video, apps for reporting, mobile storytelling, push alerts and notification plus mobile-first thinking, newsrooms and workflows. Social topics include: the logic of social media, creating visual content for social, understanding social data and analytics and how to best navigate Facebook, Twitter and other major platforms. Your trainers also will offer you one-on-one feedback about your own personal project and your organization’s priorities.
